D R U N K E N
C L A M S
Ahoy!  Been awhile, huh?  I really need to keep up with this little bitty corner of intergalactic webspace I have (:  Life has just been so crazy bus- wait..no life hasn't been busy I've just been L-A-Z-Y.  I applaud everyone with a well-kept blog.  I especially honor the ones that don't just use their iPhone camera as the source for all their pictures.  GO YOU!!

THE CLAMS!  These jolly, baby shells were some leftover clams from a huge friends & family BBQ my boyfriend Todd & I hosted.  Since we had enough of grilling I figured steaming them in alcohol would be fun!  The dilemma: white wine or beer?!  Beer won (only because I wanted to drink the white wine!)

Super easy peezy.  Ready, on three..one, two, weee!!

Ingredients:

2-3lbs of clams (cleaned, scrubbed, soaked)
1 bottle of beer- Sam Adam's Summer in this!
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp chopped parsley

Directions:
  1. Prep the molluscs by washing & soaking them in cold water.  I drain & refill the pot several times to get as much beachy sand off of them.
  2. Heat up the buttahhhh (add more if you want, naughty!) and add the garlic and half of your chopped parsley.
  3. After a few minutes add the bottle of beer & get a nice little bubbly, boil going.
  4. Add the clams & cover!  Steam on medium/high heat for 6-11 minutes or until you see most of the clams all opened up saying "hiiiiiiiii!!" to you (;
  5. Carefully transfer your plump, chubby clams to a bowl and throw out any that did not open.  These are the bad guys, we don't like bad guys.
  6. Reduce the garlicky, beer, clam juice and pour over the clams.
  7. Top with the remaining parsley & get some bread to dip in!

How absurdly simple, AMIRIGHT!?  Cheers to warm weather, everyone!  Please leave a comment & don't CLAM up!! ^_______^
